Flower Lamp

Styrene, Chromed Steel, MDF and Beech Veneer

The initial ideas for the flower lamp were inspired by and based on the style of the Anglepoise lamp design. Exploring the structure of a flower was important to see how my ideas could be interpreted into a lighting design. I particularly focused on looking at one flower, red tulips. Finding that their shape and form where perfect for designing and using as a lamp. When testing and developing my ideas even further i realised that the Anglepoise lamp design wouldn't work if I was trying to create a lamp that looks like a real flower. As a result i changed the design to an upright lamp design made from wood MDF, metal, and plastic.
